Two products aimed at the same job, with a good deal of overlap. Rather than assert what another vendor's software does or does not do, here is how LetLedger handles each area and what we would want to know before committing to any alternative.
Side by side
We do not publish feature claims about other vendors' products. These are the questions to ask them directly.| LetLedger | What to ask | |
|---|---|---|
| Portfolio-level view | Property-aware categorisation, so portfolio totals break down without extra work. | Ask: can I see one property's real position without exporting anything? |
| Daily inbox | Focused on exceptions rather than browsing every transaction. | Ask: what does the default screen show me on a quiet day? |
| Compliance deadlines | Tracked alongside finance, with reminders before certificates lapse. | Ask: does it tell me before a certificate expires, or after? |
| Data ownership | Full export of transactions and documents, whenever you want it. | Ask: what can I take with me if I leave? |
| Pricing basis | By portfolio size and bank connections, published in full. | Ask: what does this cost at the size I will be in two years? |
We don't publish feature claims about other vendors' products — we haven't verified them and they change. Put the questions above to any product you're evaluating, including ours.
Judge it on an ordinary week
Onboarding demos show the product at its best with clean data. The better test is a normal Tuesday three months in, with a part-refunded deposit and a payment that arrived under a tenant's partner's name.
Property-level truth
Portfolio totals are easy. Knowing what one property actually earned after its own costs, without exporting to a spreadsheet to work it out, is the thing that decides whether you keep it.
Ask about leaving before you join
Export quality is invisible until you need it and expensive when it is poor. Ask what a full export contains — transactions, categorisation, documents — from any vendor, us included.
Frequently asked questions
Can I import from Landlord Studio?
Transactions can be imported from a CSV export. Rules and document links have to be re-established, as with any move between systems.
Why don't you publish a feature-by-feature table?
Because we would be describing someone else's product from the outside, and it would go out of date the week they ship something. We would rather tell you what to ask them.
